This small, family-run spot hums with an unpretentious warmth, where the buzz of conversation blends with the soft clatter of chopsticks and bowls. The space is intimate—just a handful of tables and a cozy bar counter—inviting a slower, more mindful pace that gently nudges you to savor both your food and the moment.

Here, there’s no rush or fuss; instead, there’s a shared feeling of comfort and familiarity, as if you’ve been welcomed into someone’s dining room. You might find yourself drawn to the delicate Xiaolong Bao soup dumplings, each bite revealing a warm burst of broth, or lingering over a steaming bowl of Taiwanese beef noodle soup that carries the subtle complexity of treasured family recipes. Vibrant sides like crisp cucumber salad or the fiery Sichuan spicy wontons add fresh layers to the experience, echoing the genuine flavors of home.
Flower Pepper’s charm also lies in its personal touches—the owners’ quiet attentiveness and the spotless, simple space that feels loved rather than polished for show. It’s the kind of place where locals return for familiar tastes and the feeling of being looked after by the people behind the counter. Whether you’re grabbing a quick, comforting meal or settling in for an unhurried evening, the restaurant embodies a thoughtful connection between food, community, and the small joys found in authentic, homemade flavors.

This place was very small. Only 3 tables and 2 bar seating area. Because it's a family run business they don't have a waitress so make sure that you clean up after yourself. Ordered the soup dumplings, sour and spicy glass noodles, beef noodle soup, and the pork belly over rice. The soup dumplings were AMAZING! I loved the way they tasted and there was actually broth inside them. They were kind of small so that was sad but the flavor was great! The sour and spicy glass noodles were really sour so if you don't like super sour things, I don't suggest getting it. Otherwise it was good as well. The beef noodle soup was great with extra soy sauce to give it more pow! Lol the pork belly wasn't salty enough so I added soy sauce to give it even more flavor and salt. It was great! Even though all the food was good, I'm only giving it a 4/5 because of the cleanliness of the place is really lacking.

Love this place! Cozy atmosphere and good service. Food is tasty and portion sizes are solid. Definitely one of the top spots in the area!! Owner is very kind and the place is spotless. I’d recommend the beef rice bowl and dumplings. Support your local family owned businesses!

Pretty good hole in the wall for authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Beef noodle soup was decent, certainly not the best I've had. Pretty good price point too, with that said, portions are a bit small. You probably need a couple items to get full. It's not a bad spot for quick Taiwanese, if you don't feel like making the trip into Denver.

Best Chinese spot on the hill! Great prices, and the 2 ladies that run it are awesome! When I lived on The Hill I’d come here weekly.

This place is a Boulder icon and has probably my favorite food in town! The portions are perfect, the chili oil is awesome, and their Wonton Soup is to die for! Also the Xiaolong Bao Soup Dumplings (really all of their dumplings) are delicious, the Cucumber Salad is great, and the people who run the store are the wonderful. I recommend this to everyone I know, an amazing place to go any time :)

I work next to their old location. My coworkers and I are definitely sad that they moved to the hill. Today we went there for lunch. I ordered the wonton duck noodle soup. It was still as amazing as before. Their broth was so good. One of the few restaurants that I drink all of the broth.

I ordered the vegetarian dan dan noodles. They were superb. They came in a savory vegetarian broth with oil. I normally don’t like vegetarian dishes, but the flavor in the texture was so superior that I didn’t mind. Strongly recommended.
